the research on internationalisation of higher education provides an evidence-based voice on the lived experience in international collaboration in higher education and knowledge exchange across countries and increasingly continents. The theoretical foundation for the concept of internationalisation of higher education has evolved over the last four decades. This is related to the fact, as de Wit and Altbach (2021) state, that “[I]nternationalization is a process in constant evolution, which changes in response to local, national, regional, and global environments'' (p. 17). At the same time, the theoretical foundation is still rather weak, Lee and Stensaker (2021) speak of undertheoretisation of the field. That makes it even more relevant that there is a strong interest of new scholars studying internationalisation in higher education.

Abstract
the research on internationalisation of higher education provides an evidence-based voice on the lived experience in international collaboration in higher education and knowledge exchange across countries and increasingly continents. That makes it even more relevant that there is a strong interest of new scholars studying internationalisation in higher education.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
