This essay wants to inquire into this female world with a different prospective. The author has investigated a little pool of foreign women in Milan that, by themselves, have started micro-enterprises in the field of fashion and food. Through the collection of 'life stories' of some entrepreneurs, the author has been reconstructed very articulate and professional migration patterns show an interesting interplay between tradition and modernity. Exactly the same activities that have always characterized the subordination of the female gender (like cooking, sewing, e.g.) become pathways to independence rethinking traditional knowledge and skills.
Questo saggio getta luce su un mondo femminile straniero particolare, costituito da alcune donne che a Milano, da sole, hanno avviato delle microimprese nel campo della moda e del cibo. Attraverso la raccolta dei ‘racconti di vita’ delle protagoniste, sono stati ricostruiti percorsi migratori e professionali molto articolati che nel complesso rivelano un interessante intreccio fra tradizione e modernità. Riprendendo, non a caso, proprio quelle attività che da sempre hanno caratterizzato la subordinazione del genere femminile, le imprenditrici intervistate hanno in realtà innescato percorsi di indipendenza rivalutando saperi e abilità tradizionali.
