UN FESTIVAL DELLE MERAVIGLIE. THAUMA TEATRO ANTICO IN SCENA. DIECI ANNI DI STORIA

The volume offers a detailed review of the ten-year history of the Thauma Festival organized by the Catholic University from 2015 to 2024 to welcome in a healthy competition 166 virtuous school-theatre works carried out in 68 Italian high schools. The peculiarity is that the shows are all inspired by the masterpieces of the great Greek and Latin theater which have regained life, breath, soul, looks and gestures thanks to the very young interpreters expertly guided by their teachers, and always full of enthusiasm, bringing distances closer and managing to persuade even professional juries. It is a precious 'third way of theatre', different from both amateur and professional theatre, of which the chronicles and work diaries are presented here, with a mine of useful information for anyone who wants to approach the study of classical theater in scene. 'Thauma', wonder, is the term that best describes these theatrical experiences of which we wish to preserve the memory, looking ahead to the next ten years.

Il volume offre un'articolata rassegna dei dieci anni di storia del Festival Thauma organizzato dall’Università Cattolica dal 2015 al 2024 per accogliere in un una sana competizione 166 virtuosi lavori di scuola-teatro svolti in 68 scuole superiori italiane. La peculiarità è che gli spettacoli sono tutti ispirati dai capolavori del grande teatro greco e latino che hanno ripreso vita, respiro, animo, sguardi e gesti grazie ai giovanissimi interpreti sapientemente guidati dai loro docenti, e sempre pieni d’entusiasmo, avvicinando le distanze e riuscendo a persuadere anche le giurie professioniste. Si tratta di una preziosa ‘terza via del teatro’, diversa sia dal teatro amatoriale che da quello professionista, di cui vengono presentati qui le cronache e i diari di lavoro, con una miniera di informazioni utili a chiunque voglia avvicinare lo studio del teatro classico in scena. 'Thauma', meraviglia, è il termine che meglio descrive queste esperienze di teatralità di cui desideriamo conservare la memoria, guardando avanti ai prossimi dieci anni.
