The article deals with the encounter between families and institution (the Compagnia di S. Paolo of Turin) carried out through pious legacies that testators left to the institution. Pious legacies aimed at performing some family businesses and goals while at the same time achieving a long-standing relationship with the Company, which was in particular useful in order to finance the dowries of the female descent on the long run.
