Franscisco de Quevedo’s relationship with the Italian literary tradition is a prolific re- search area. In some poems from Erato, the imitation of Groto’s works is evident, but Quevedo uses this source as a point of departure to completely recreate it according to Baroque and conceptista sensibilities. Through a comparison of the source with the reworked version, I intend to mark the improvements of Quevedo’s poetry in terms of versification, meaning and how the poet transforms Petrarchan imagery.

Abstract
Franscisco de Quevedo’s relationship with the Italian literary tradition is a prolific re- search area. In some poems from Erato, the imitation of Groto’s works is evident, but Quevedo uses this source as a point of departure to completely recreate it according to Baroque and conceptista sensibilities. Through a comparison of the source with the reworked version, I intend to mark the improvements of Quevedo’s poetry in terms of versification, meaning and how the poet transforms Petrarchan imagery.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
