The articles derive from a field research activity dealing with the problem of evaluation of health systems and services quality. After a brief introduction focusing the main issues (both conceptual and operational), the most widespread evaluation approach are presented and discussed (quality assessment and VRQ). An application is also presented to a residential hospice for elder people.
