The Franciscan friar Agostino Gemelli (1878–1959) was one of the leading figures on the Catholic, political and intellectual scene of his time. The essay reconstructs his role as founder if the Catholic University of Milan, highlighting his ideas about science faith and education, from his conversion to the “Medievalist” programme. Is ideas about experimental science and psychology, about philosophy, spirituality and action are examined as well as his leadership as rector.
