Avvenimenti della forma. L'impossibile corrispondenza

Poncet che si muove per raggruppamenti di opere in un susseguirsi di esperienze che danno forma a famiglie di immagini: la scala, la soglia, la finestra, la barca, legate all’idea di luogo, piuttosto che di viaggio e che mostrano sia la loro coesione interna, sia la loro capacità di svolgimento e di espansione. La ricerca di uno spazio primario attorno al quale si organizza la forma, vede spesso contrapporsi forze avverse. L’intuizione lucida di ciò che l’artista percepisce passa attraverso la scoperta della soluzione plastica cui si deve giungere per rendere visibile quella nuova realtà che si fa opera. Sulla strada tracciata dai grandi maestri della contemporaneità, da Picasso a Moore, da Chillida a Bancusi, la nozione di plastica e di spazio assume, nelle opere della Poncet la caratteristica classica di una costruzione che rivela fatti fondamentali della nostra esistenza, isolandoli come temi formali e articolandoli come forme artistiche attraverso materiali che hanno pesantezza e opacità, rotondità e tornitura, attributi che rimandano alla corporeità, che raccontano la condizione dell’artista come la nostra sottomessa alle regole dello spazio, del peso e del tempo, ma che dalle mani dell’artista riesce sempre a trovare quel punto di fuga che la porta in un orizzonte inimmaginabile.
