Terminology contributes to the consolidation of linguistic and cultural heritages, while its intra- and inter-linguistic dissemination encourages the construction of interdisciplinary dialogues, evolving in parallel with new needs and contexts. This dynamic is part of the problems of intercultural communication, both in the practices of expression and in those of interlinguistic translation. In this volume, academics and terminology specialists present their reflections on these issues, studying the cultural and intercultural dimensions of terminology research and its practices, and questioning all the phenomena linked to the meeting of cultures in the discursive realization of specialized fields. These reflections take into account all the dimensions of textuality, right up to digital spaces, which offer tools for analysis beyond the limits of materiality, thus providing a broad panorama in the current debate, a fertile ground for the theoretical verification of research questions in terminology. The contributions gathered in this volume are part of the following perspectives: - methodological research into the state of the art in thinking about interculturality, through the study of several significant case studies which highlight the importance of the relationship between terminology and interculturality ; reflections that analyse forms of resistance and openness to linguistic-cultural otherness, with particular emphasis on the relationship between language-culture source and language-culture target in terminological practice; practices of terminological activities in the challenges, perspectives and critical questions linked to the use of natural language processing (NLP) tools in contact with cultural terminology.
