This book offers a wide linguistic and cultural access to contemporary French, through an analysis of its main features: the dynamics of oral and written French, French syntax, neology and phraseology, specialised communication, the key features of the French lexicographical experience, from the past to modernity and the future. The European and international French-speaking areas form the backdrop to this territory, within which the actions of language policies as well as new styles of teaching and learning French as a foreign and second language are developed. The role of French as an international language, a cultural and intercultural vector of diversity, is presented through a detailed study of its functions and needs, its states of existence and development, according to the contexts, uses and communicative intentions of its speakers. This study offers an updated panorama of the French language, inclusive of all cultures and all the knowledge that it constructs and expresses, in a balance between phonological and lexical variations, morphosyntax, terminology and semantics.

Abstract
This study offers an updated panorama of the French language, inclusive of all cultures and all the knowledge that it constructs and expresses, in a balance between phonological and lexical variations, morphosyntax, terminology and semantics.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
