Higher Education is a particularly important area of actual or potential application for language policy and planning. Such applications raise questions that range from fundamental social and political issues about the role of different languages in contemporary societies in an era of globalization, internationalization and AI, to very practical organizational and pedagogical problems. The chapter analyses some key concepts that can help to delineate a (public) policy analysis perspective on Higher Education Language Policies (HELP). The question of HELP is examined through some key theoretical inputs. An analytical framework to approach HELPs in an integrative and systemic model is proposed, so as some challenges confronting HELPs are discussed.

Abstract
Higher Education is a particularly important area of actual or potential application for language policy and planning. Such applications raise questions that range from fundamental social and political issues about the role of different languages in contemporary societies in an era of globalization, internationalization and AI, to very practical organizational and pedagogical problems. The chapter analyses some key concepts that can help to delineate a (public) policy analysis perspective on Higher Education Language Policies (HELP). The question of HELP is examined through some key theoretical inputs. An analytical framework to approach HELPs in an integrative and systemic model is proposed, so as some challenges confronting HELPs are discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
