In the XIIIth century a few MSS, owned by the monastery of Montecassino, were copied and studied in the Naples area; in the XIVth century Zanobi da Strada and Boccaccio had the opportunity to annotate them and also to bring to Florence; XVth-century humanists also visited Montecassino and took away other books.
