The cultural notion of “firm” is a fertile ground for interdisciplinary research joining history of economic thought and literary studies (lato sensu). In the two complementary sections of this essay, Daniela Parisi (pp. 121-130) and Enrico Reggiani (pp. 111-121) autonomously examine its linguistic foundations and some different textual actualizations in literary works in English.
