The article analysis Chernobyl, the HBO 2019 miniseries on the 1986 nuclear disaster, from a storytelling perspective. The main narrative rhetoric features of the miniseries are taken into account. It is especially highlighted the way structure is conceived as a means to tackle complex historical events, that unfolded along a long period of time, so that the audience can be both engaged and fully informed on the facts. Thematization and character construction are also emphasized for their importance.
