The present church of S. Angela Merici (formerly S. Afra), stands on the remains of the early Christian basilica of S. Faustino ad sanguinem, of which it preserves several testimonies. The contribution takes into consideration the early Christian epigraphic finds discovered within the building and discusses some issues related to the origins of the cult of Saints Faustino and Giovita in Brescia.
