The text is a reconstruction of the relationships between Max Ernst and Paul Eluard. Eluard with his wife Gala hosted the painter in the first part of the Twenties and during that time Ernst realized an entire cycle of mural paintings of the wall of the house, in Eaubonne, around Paris. After a lot of time the daughter of Paul Eluard and Gala has detached the paintings, that have been sold in singular parts. Now, some of them have been presented in the exhibition dedicated to the artist in Milan. The text concerns the importance of these paintings, for their subjects and for the relationships between the artist and the poet, in the definition of Surrealism.
