This chapter focuses on criminal law prevention and punishment of art forgery in the Italian legal framework as resulting from the comprehensive reform of offences against cultural heritage adopted in 2022. Specific attention is paid to the possible role as 'gatekeepers' played by artists' archives and to the newly introduced corporate quasi-criminal liability for all offences against cultural heritage, including art counterfeiting.
