The article proposes an analysis of terminology in a diachronic perspective, relating to the art of silkworm rearing and silk production. It explores a number of interesting sources, constituting a specialised corpus that meets the requirements of homogeneity, diachronicity and contrastivity: a first methodological step towards further research in the field of the linguistic history of sericulture.
