The theme I am addressing today has been often discussed at the Lincei Academy from numerous angles and at multiple times, given that a number of our Fellows have personally contributed to the construction of Europe. We can count among these the Giants of political thought and institutional relations, Benedetto Croce and Luigi Einaudi, who played a fundamental role in re-founding our Society and are counted among the founding fathers of the Italian Republic.
