This contribution examines the presence of German entrepreneurs in Lombardy between the end of the 18th century and the Italian agricultural crisis of the 1880s, with particular reference to the city of Milan and its province. The German "colony" in Milan made an important contribution to the modernization of the economic, social and cultural life of the Lombard capital and its territory.
Il contributo esamina la presenza degli imprenditori tedeschi in Lombardia dalla fine del settecento alla crisi dell'agricoltura italiana degli anni '80, con particolare riferimento alla città di Milano e alla sua provincia. La 'colonia' tedesca di Milano offrì un contributo importante alla modernizzazione della vita economica sociale e culturale della capitale della Lombardia.
