This essay analyses the political situation in the Middle East after the so-called Arab Spring as perceived by the ruling elite in Tehran. It also tries to esplain the reasons of the "Persian Winter" and the lack of a new wave of protests after the popular mobilization of 2009, when milions of Iranians protested against the electoral fraud.
