The pandemic crisis is not comparable in extension, depth, synchronicity on a global level, etiological factors to any of the previous (recent) crises; effects and remedial actions are therefore to be investigated in an unexplored cognitive and empirical territory. The assistance measures for households and businesses launched in the immediacy of the pandemic crisis do not allow to grasp its final impact on credit risk. This paper reviews the risks deriving from a widespread presence of firms pre-insolvent (zombie firms), the elements that must be under close observation in order to promptly grasp the risks of deterioration in the financial situation of firms and an hypothesis for intervention with reference to overindebted households.

Abstract
The pandemic crisis is not comparable in extension, depth, synchronicity on a global level, etiological factors to any of the previous (recent) crises; effects and remedial actions are therefore to be investigated in an unexplored cognitive and empirical territory. The assistance measures for households and businesses launched in the immediacy of the pandemic crisis do not allow to grasp its final impact on credit risk. This paper reviews the risks deriving from a widespread presence of firms pre-insolvent (zombie firms), the elements that must be under close observation in order to promptly grasp the risks of deterioration in the financial situation of firms and an hypothesis for intervention with reference to overindebted households.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
