In margine alle postille di Torquato Tasso all'Ars poetica di Orazio

The essay examines two Horace’s “Ars Poetica" editions annotated by Tasso, which are preserved at Brown University library and which have been almost unknown to scholars so far. Their history is partially reconstructed: one of them can be recognized as a nineteenth-century fake manuscript of Tasso, adding another to the list of these fakes. The other appears to be significant in terms of the reconstruction of Tasso’s poetry, also thanks to the comparison made here with the Tassian annotations to other meditative works, especially to Aristotle’s Poetics.

Il saggio prende in esame due postillati tassiani all'"Ars poetica" di Orazio, conservati presso la biblioteca della Brown University e rimasti finora quasi sconosciuti agli studiosi. Ne viene parzialmente ricostruita la storia e si riconosce, in uno dei due, uno dei falsi ottocenteschi di manoscritti tassiani, il cui elenco viene così ad arricchirsi di una voce. L'altro appare invece significativo ai fini della ricostruzione della poetica del Tasso, anche grazie al confronto, qui effettuato, con le postille tassiane ad altre opere di genere riflessivo, in particolare alla Poetica di Aristotele.
