Cornelio Musso vescovo e predicatore dell'età conciliare

This contribution highlights the relationship between the preacher Cornelio Musso, one of the most representative characters of the sixteenth century who have not been adequately investigated yet, and Charles Borromeo. In particular, the characteristics of Musso's preaching are described in the light of the general trends of Borromeo’s reform. The essay is accompanied by the edition of some of Musso’s letters which were sent to Charles Borromeo. These signed letters are preserved at the Vatican Library.

Il contributo mette in luce i rapporti intercorsi tra il predicatore Cornelio Musso, tra i più rappresentativi del Cinquecento e non ancora adeguatamente indagati, e Carlo Borromeo. In particolare si osservano le caratteristiche della predicazione del Musso alla luce delle tendenze della riforma borromaica del genere. Il saggio è corredato dall'edizione di alcune epistole del Musso inviate a Carlo Borromeo e conservate autografe alla Biblioteca Vaticana.
