Positive Youth Development (PYD) argues that all adolescents should be seen as having resources to develop and calls for valuing their talents and abilities. This brief introduction traces the assumptions behind PYD and outlines the 5Cs to be promoted: Competence, Trust, Connection, Respect and Accountability, Care, and Compassion. Moreover, it offers a brief summary of what emerged in the previous volume (Generation Z. Looking at the world with faith and hope) and introduces the central theme of the new volume: values.
Il Positive Youth Development (PYD) sostiene che tutti gli adolescenti devono essere visti come portatori di risorse da sviluppare e invita a valorizzare i loro talenti e le loro capacità. Questa breve introduzione ripercorre le ipotesi alla base del PYD e illustra le 5C da promuovere: Competenza, Fiducia, Connessione, Rispetto e Responsabilità, Cura e Compassione. Inoltre, offre una breve sintesi di quanto emerso nel volume precedente (Generazione Z. Guardare il mondo con fiducia e speranza) e introduce il tema centrale del nuovo volume: i valori.
