The Encyclical Letter Laudato si’ offers a lucid analysis of the current global crisis and defines possible solutions, under the aegis of responsibility. In this perspective, the essay enhances corporate practices oriented towards an integrated business concept in reference to B Corp movement: by contributing to social and environmental regeneration, B Corps connect economic system and education in a sustainability planning approach. In order to create a pedagogical tool to develop environmental consciousness, this essay’s educational aspect shares the same ethos with a business model that creates value by becoming “an educating community” itself, rooted in a spirit of collaboration. In line with the inter- and transdisciplinary approach promoted by integral ecology, in this essay sustainability is intended in a broad sense. It is interpreted as a fertile ground where to increase a critical exchange and a rich dialogue across environmental pedagogy and economic theory, concerning practices and tools contributing to increase human responsibility towards the whole planet.
