At last, a detailed account of La Pira’s writings is offered by Pier Antonio Carnemolla, famous scholar of La Pira’s heritage. In particular, the essay La Pira as a mystic by Elisabetta Zambruno illustrates how the value of the human being is seen as coming from the creation in the image of God, so that the final purpose is also in going back to God. The end of human life is then contemplation, which displays the love for God and for the other human beings at the same time. A primacy thus given to contemplation but at the same time a value recognized to being engaged in the society.

In particolare nel saggio La Pira mistico di Elisabetta Zambruno si sottolinea che il valore dell’uomo consiste nell’essere creato ad immagine di Dio e il suo fine ultimo è nel tendere a Lui. Fine dell’uomo è allora la contemplazione che manifesta l’amore per Dio e insieme per gli altri uomini. Primato dunque della contemplazione, ma nello stesso tempo impegno anche nella società.
