This paper examines the story of the Celtic attack on Delphi in 279 B.C. with particular attention to issues of historiographical nature and tries to define the tendency that characterize our tradition; it also takes into consideration the critical interventions between the author’s contributions at the turn of the 80s and 90s and today, re-proposing the substantial validity of the positions then expressed.
