The Seleukid princess Apame married the Ptolemaic prince Magas, the governor of Cyrene, before 274 BCE. After Magas’ death she made an alliance with the Antigonid prince Demetrios the Fair to preserve Cyrene’s independence. In exchange she married her daughter Berenike to him. In 246 the army rebelled against Demetrios and killed him: Berenike II married Ptolemy III and Cyrene re-entered the Egyptian kingdom. Apame’s fate is unknown.
