The chapter analyses the relationship between political leadership and citizenship during the Covid-19 pandemic.The main attention is dedicated to the study of the communicative tools used by statesmen and politicians. In particular the essay deal with the role of personalization, the process of de-politicization, and the growth of polarization within western democratic societies. These three features seem to indicate the advent of a "bubble democracy"
