John of Olomouc, clericus and schoolmaster who followed cardinal Branda from Bohemia to Castiglione Olona, wrote a short biography of his patron on a parchment sheet which was buried with the cardinal. The parchment was found five centuries later, when the sarcophagus was opened for inspection. An edition of the text is given.
