Il progetto RESOMA

The ReSOMA - Research Social Platform on Migration and Asylum project funded under H2020 were conceived as a unique complementary effort bringing migration knowledge to policymakers, enhancing the ongoing dialogue between experts with distinct professional backgrounds. More broadly, ReSOMA enhanced the active dialogue between academics and scholars, policymakers, and representatives of the civil society, experts in migration, asylum, and integration fields. In this regard, ReSOMA is what has been defined as the Research-Policy dialogue. More precisely, the Research-Social-Policy Dialogue. The structure of the Research-Social-Policy dialogue takes the shape of a de-institutionalized dialogue, which is typical of highly politicized debates as nowadays those on migration are. Among migration issues, when the politicization degree was lower, the research policy dialogues were more institutionalized with stable groups of experts or internal ad hoc commissions. Nowadays, given the great increase of the politicization level of migration issues, we are assisting at a progressive deinstitutionalization of the relationships between knowledge and policy. This implies that dialogues become more open and flexible, informal, and mostly more focused. ReSOMA identified 27 top priority topics. This way the ReSOMA debates occurred on topics identified according to their relevance in the current policy debate, considering both the existing priorities in the European policy agenda (top-down approach) and the emerging needs not prioritized yet in the policy agenda (bottom-up approach).
