(San) Francesco e i musulmani. Incontro e dialogo

On the occasion of the 800th anniversary (1219-2019) of the meeting between Francis of Assisi and the Sultan al-Malik al-Kamil, this volume aims to retrace both this visit and Pope Francis' relations with Muslims from the beginning of his pontificate. The concepts of encounter and dialogue are addressed transversally to these two themes, in their potential and actual feasibility. In a historical moment, such as the one we are experiencing, the promotion of mutual understanding and respect between different religions, evident in the symbolic value of the visit of the Saint of Assisi and in the commitment of Pope Francis, do not represent unnecessary efforts.
