The volume traces an initial biographical and critical summary of the work of the English artist Ralph Rumney 1934-2002), a protagonist today submerged by the multiplicity of names and events that have characterized the avant-garde of Situationism. Through the reconstruction of the artist's early Italian period (1953-1960), the book highlights his presence in Milan at the beginning of the 1950s, and his contribution to the founding in Cosio D'Arroscia (Imperia) of the International Situationist group, born from the union of the Psychogeographical Committee of London (of which Rumney was an exponent), Guy Debord's International Letturista and Jorn and Gallizio's Movimento per un Bauhaus Immaginista. The volume is part of the "Visti da vicino" series promoted by the Casa Museo Boschi Di Stefano in Milan, whose collection contains some of the artist's works.
