Abstract

The reader of this work can find in the Greek literature (ranging from the archaic one to the new hellenic poetry and to new modern redrafting of the myth) the «reference points drawn by the stars in the vault of the sky» (M. Detienne) to «sail to the archipelago where the great destiny of the Western civilization began» (M. Heidegger) and achieve the justice haven. Not only is the Law expert called upon to strive towards the ideal Itaca of hesykía, where conflicts and disputes are settled and hybris is moved away, but also each of us, everyday, rushed into the issues of everyday life, must seek poros, the way. Indeed, like in the navigation art, everyone must «play cunning with the wind, always catch the moment, foresee the best chance to react». The «smartness endowed with a thousand facets», the gnome polybulos, not only is a navigator virtue, according to Pindaro, but also a virtue of the human being that aims at questing after the “right words”.
