I risultati di una ricerca sui servizi che curano il disagio mentale a Milano

The paper contains the results of a qualitative research conducted in 2003 in Milan on the services that treat mental distress. The themes treated by interviewing people working in these services, are numerous and include: the relationship between social and health, the involvement of the private sector, the process of transformation of health facilities in "companies" and the subsequent effects on activities of psychiatric care, the situation that has arisen after the closure of asylums and intervention models in psychiatry. The study concludes with some concrete proposals, designed especially for the Milan metropolitan context.

Il saggio contiene i risultati di una ricerca di tipo qualitativo effettuata nel 2003 sui servizi che a Milano curano il disagio mentale. Le tematiche che vengono affrontate, intervistando le persone che operano in questi servizi, sono numerose e riguardano: il rapporto tra sociale e sanitario, il coinvolgimento del settore privato, il processo di trasformazione in “aziende” delle strutture sanitarie e gli effetti conseguenti per le attività di cura psichiatriche, la situazione che si è creata dopo la chiusura dei manicomi e i modelli di intervento in psichiatria. Lo studio termina con alcune proposte concrete, pensate in particolare per il contesto metropolitano milanese.
