This paper has as object the study of the presence of Shakespeare in the early poems and in the letters of John Keats, the evaluation that Keats provides of the sonnets of Shakespeare and of King Lear, and the use that Keats makes of these works. The article also provides a detailed analysis of Keats's sonnet “On Sitting Down to Read King Lear Once Again”.
In questo lavoro viene esaminata la presenza di Shakespeare nelle prime opere poetiche e nelle lettere di John Keats, la valutazione che Keats fornisce dei sonetti di Shakespeare e della tragedia King Lear, e il conseguente impiego di tali opere da parte sua, per concludere con una dettagliata analisi del sonetto “On Sitting Down to Read King Lear Once Again”.
