European citizenship poses a definitely problem: the status of European citizen depends on being citizens of one of EU member states. This dependence tend to mask the difference of the two forms of citizenship. The sense of national membership prevails, from a subjective point of view, with respect to the common membership to EU. Through relational sociological analysis of historical and cultural mold will locate the particular characteristics of European citizenship, surpassing the absorption identitarian particularistic model.
