This paper analyses the effects and the social impacts of the current migration waves in Europe, with a specific focus on the German situation and the relations between Pegida movement – Patriotische Europäer gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes and AfD – Alternative fuer Deutschland – political party. Specifically, this piece of writing is the first to take a systematic approach from a sociological perspective to investigate what happened in Germany in the last few crucial month, where specific evidence of the role of the sociological framework have been demonstrated. The aim of this analysis is the legitimateness of the the importance of social resilience at both methodological and operative levels, considering the interdependences that this concept has with the more general sociological framework and the migration issues. The paper ends with an insight of the future of the migrants policies in Germany and the definition of the two sociological categories “resilience in transition and temporary resilience”.
