The archaeological investigations conducted between 2011 and 2017 in Tor dei Pagà (Vione, BS) in an area located at about 2250 m above sea level found a fortified site frequented between the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries. The contribution offers an overview of the results and tries to understand the motivations that led to the realization of such a fortification at such a high altitude, well above the valley floor and in a context that is almost certainly impracticable in the winter months.

Abstract
The archaeological investigations conducted between 2011 and 2017 in Tor dei Pagà (Vione, BS) in an area located at about 2250 m above sea level found a fortified site frequented between the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries. The contribution offers an overview of the results and tries to understand the motivations that led to the realization of such a fortification at such a high altitude, well above the valley floor and in a context that is almost certainly impracticable in the winter months.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
