After a summary review of binary relations and their properties, it presents the main axioms used in the theory of choice. The several formulation of completeness and transitivity are used to outline their implications for discussing freedom and collective choice problems. After a chapter on revealed preference, the assumption of continuity is introduced and the main results on the representation of preferences. The following chapter discusses the axiom of rationality and its interpretations. The book ends with an introduction to the theory of choice under uncertainty.

Abstract
After a summary review of binary relations and their properties, it presents the main axioms used in the theory of choice. The several formulation of completeness and transitivity are used to outline their implications for discussing freedom and collective choice problems. After a chapter on revealed preference, the assumption of continuity is introduced and the main results on the representation of preferences. The following chapter discusses the axiom of rationality and its interpretations. The book ends with an introduction to the theory of choice under uncertainty.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
