Erich Burck’s Die Erzählungskunst des Titus Livius is a turning-point in Livian studies. It has developed the work of K. Witte and W. Kroll, but at the same time it has been heavy influenced by the philological and methodological issues of Richard Heinze. Burck’s analysis, which improves significantly our understanding of Livy’s method and art, is important also for the dialectic between the studies in ancient history and literature and the ideological context of the Thirties.

Abstract
Erich Burck’s Die Erzählungskunst des Titus Livius is a turning-point in Livian studies. It has developed the work of K. Witte and W. Kroll, but at the same time it has been heavy influenced by the philological and methodological issues of Richard Heinze. Burck’s analysis, which improves significantly our understanding of Livy’s method and art, is important also for the dialectic between the studies in ancient history and literature and the ideological context of the Thirties.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
