The aim of this paper is to examine how the sense of human generativity changes, in the context of the debate on same-sex marriage and homoparenting (especially in USA). The main point of view is that of the child and a special focus is dedicated to the right to know one’s origins. This fundamental right is today in conflict with the so-called right to a child, which has been increasingly legitimized by the assisted reproductive technologies.

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to examine how the sense of human generativity changes, in the context of the debate on same-sex marriage and homoparenting (especially in USA). The main point of view is that of the child and a special focus is dedicated to the right to know one’s origins. This fundamental right is today in conflict with the so-called right to a child, which has been increasingly legitimized by the assisted reproductive technologies.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
