Varietà di esperienze monastiche episcopali a Brescia tra IX e XI secolo

The bishop's commitment toward the religious monastic structures is investigated on the basis of three different examples of the lombard diocese of Brescia concerning three monasteries: the urban one of San Faustino Maggiore, wanted by the bishop Ramperto in the middle of the century IX, the extraurban one of St. Euphemia “in fonte”, founded by the bishop Landolfo II at the beginning of the XI century and the prealpine one of the San Pietro “in monte” of Serle erected by the bishop Olderico.

L'impegno episcopale verso le strutture monastiche religiose è indagato sulla base di tre diversi esempi della diocesi lombarda di Brescia riguardanti tre cenobi: quello urbano di San Faustino Maggiore, voluto dal vescovo Ramperto a metà del secolo IX, quello extraurbano di Sant'Eufemia della fonte, fondato dal vescovo Landolfo II all'inizio del Mille e quello prealpino di San Pietro in monte di Serle eretto dal vescovo Olderico.
