pithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is a rare vascular tumour with borderline malignant potential. When located in the bone tissue, EHE affects young men and produces osteolytic lesions. The neoplasm appears in a unilocular or a multicentric manner, with multiple lesions being present in the same bone, in adjacent bones in the same limb, or in widely separated bones. A study performed by Kleer et al., stated that on the basis of the histological features it was not possible to predict the outcome of patients because visceral involvement was the only important criterion for determining the prognosis. The histological features of EHE include large cells with varying degrees of intracytoplasmic vacuolization, fibromyxoid stroma and well-formed vascular channels

Abstract

pithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is a rare vascular tumour with borderline malignant potential.
