I saggi contenuti nel volume sono presentati nel quadro articolato dei tipi di turismo che è andato delineandosi nel tempo. Sulla base dei casi di studio esaminati (turismo del fall foliage, turismo sciistico e turismo legato al surf) vengono sviluppate alcune considerazioni.
