La basilica di San Salvatore: i cicli pittorici altomedievali

The essay is a critical review of the historical and artistic sources concerning the basilica of San Salvatore of Brescia, the restoration and the creation of the museum of the city: in particular the attention is focused on the stratification, on the reuse and on the many changes to which the monastic complex has been subject since its foundation, at the time of the Lombard king Desiderius, until the twentieth century.

Riesame critico delle fonti storico-artistiche riguardanti la basilica di San Salvatore di Brescia, degli interventi di restauro e della sistemazione museale. In particolare si evidenziano le stratificazioni, i riusi e i numerosi rimaneggiamenti a cui il complesso monastico è stato soggetto dalla sua fondazione, in età desideriana, fino al Novecento.
