The article insists on the utter need, in the present conflictual context, for a truly humanistic education, with examples drawn from both Western and Islamic tradition. It was first delivered in a conference organized in Amman by the Royal Institute for Interfaith studies, together with the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue.
