Cuore had four different film versions in Republican Italy, which are differently constructed and which more or less alter the original textThe success of audience proves that Cuore still nowadays captures the reader/the viewer, both for its content and its very moving plots. The films, though, are altering the original plot, so that we are confronted with the imaginary pictures of an already imaginary school class: tracing how and where these pictures did or did not respect the original book will show how much of them also depends on historical moments.
