Commented edition of two fragments of Hellenistic (most probably Ptolemaic) encomiastic elegy, SH 969 and 958, dealing with the Galatian invasion in Asia Minor and with the rebellion of Galatian mercenaries in Egypt suppressed by Ptolemy II Philadelphos (cf. Callimachos Hymn to Delos). With a wide-scope introduction on Ptolemaic court poetry and propaganda and on the history of historical/encomiastic elegy.
